The opening of the Discovery Rottnest Island retreat on the 1st March provides visitors with a new way of experiencing the idyllic island getaway which is located off the coast of Perth, Western Australia.
Nestled in the dunes behind Pinky Beach, Discovery Rottnest will allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the island’s spectacular natural environment in low-impact, high-quality eco tent accommodation.
Discovery Rottnest Island comprises 83 high-quality eco-tents with ensuite pods, connected via elevated walkways to the Pinky’s Beach Club complex. The $20 million luxury glamping resort will also feature a swimming pool, alfresco bar and dining area.

The first DoubleTree by Hilton property in WA, and the first new-build DoubleTree by Hilton in Australia, officially launched on January 18, 2019.
Located in the cultural hub of Northbridge, DoubleTree by Hilton is within close walking distance to dining, shopping and cultural attractions, including Yagan Square, Elizabeth Quay and RAC Arena. The hotel will feature 206 guest rooms, including Executive Panoramic View rooms, an executive lounge, James St Bar + Kitchen, 310m² of event space, a gym and an outdoor pool and bar. Adding to Perth’s hotel and hospitality boom, the hotel brand will open a second property in 2019 – DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront – located near Elizabeth Quay overlooking the Swan River.

The studio is a unique way to experience the New Zealand culture of wine with a personalised tasting and sensory journey through craft. You’ll enjoy tasting through a family of wines across distinctive regions in New Zealand, exclusive samples direct from the barrel, and revel in audio-visual delight in the intimate studio theatre. Australian actor and regular visitor to the Whitsundays Lincoln Lewis has been announced as the new ambassador for Daydream Island. He will be one of the first to explore the new Daydream Island when it opens in April 2019, with sustainability and the conservation of marine wildlife at the forefront of his Island journey.
Lincoln will be exploring all that Daydream has to offer from snorkelling, riding jet skis, stand up paddle boarding and helicopter tours – test driving all the experiences guests can explore whilst visiting Daydream. When asked about his role with Daydream Island, Lincoln Lewis said “Daydream is the perfect destination for an action-packed adventure, developing your knowledge about the local marine life through their Living Reef or just lounging by the pool taking in the view – I can’t wait to do it all!”. Lincoln is a dedicated advocate for sustainability and the conservation of marine wildlife and the environment.
Lincoln will immerse himself with the team of resident marine biologists at Daydream Island’s Living Reef to help spread the word on marine life and reef conservation.
Most well known for his roles in Home and Away, Underbelly and House Husbands, Lincoln was appointed a Tourism Australia ambassador in 2017, leading their Aussie News Today campaign targeting youth travellers. An avid photographer and videographer, Lincoln enjoys capturing stunning Australian vistas, particularly beaches and coastal scenes.
