Running whale watching cruises since 1987, Tangalooma Island Resort has had another incredible whale watching season, with over 1000 whales spotted by over 15,000 whale watchers. Before migration whales can eat up to 2 tonnes of krill a day, they migrate from cold Antarctic waters (around -2 degrees Celsius) to warmer tropical waters to breed and give birth. When Queensland tropical waters average around 22 degrees Celsius, humpback whales often come to play, the calves in particular love to play! Whale watchers are often on the lookout for Migaloo, the elusive white whale, whale watching tours from Tangalooma will resume from June to October 2020.
